Mikko Hypponen is a world-wide authority on computer security issues.
He has led his virus research team through the largest computer virus outbreaks in history. Mr. Hypponen has been involved in catching several online criminals, and he has assisted law enforcement in USA, Europe and Asia.

Mr. Hypponen has also extensively researched cyber warfare and online espionage. He has written on these topics for magazines such as Scientific American and Foreign Policy and has briefed several intelligence agencies on these matters.

Mr. Hypponen is on author and a columnist. He has delivered hundreds of talks in over 40 countries over the last 20 years, including keynotes in the most important security conferences. In 2010, he was awarded the Virus Bulletin Award as the best educator in the industry.

Mr. Hypponen holds several patents, including US patent 6,577,920 “Computer virus screening”. He was listed as one of the 50 Most Important People on the Web by the PC World magazine.
