Dr. Tina Opie, Ph.D, is an organizational expert. She is the Chief Vision Officer of Opie Consulting Group LLC, the Founder of Shared Sisterhood (TM), a Visiting Scholar at Harvard Business School, and an Associate Professor of Management at Babson College, teaching organizational behavior courses.
An award-winning researcher and teacher, Dr. Opie explores the connections between diversity, inclusion and equity along with identity, culture, fashion, authenticity and professionalism. As a consultant, she provides organizations with strategic direction on how to create more diverse, inclusive and equitable workplaces. Her work on Shared Sisterhood™ provides individuals and organizational leaders with specific strategies to tap into their authentic identities, forge deeper relationships across difference and create more inclusive environments. She has advised firms in the beauty, educational, financial services, health care, and media industries. Her work has appeared in O Magazine, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe and Harvard Business Review. She is a regular commentator on the Women at Work podcast, and Greater Boston’s NPR affiliate television station WGBH. Her work has also appeared in academic journals such as Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: An International Journal, Fashion Studies, Frontiers in Psychology, Higher Education and Organizational Dynamics. Before teaching, she was a consultant at A.T. Kearney, a global management consulting firm, and a commercial banker at Bank of America. Dr. Opie brings more than 20 years of experience as a thought leader who combines practice and theory to generate high-impact solutions that unleash the power of authenticity in organizations.
