Dan Hunt is an outstanding athletics coach. Throughout his 5 year coaching career he has coached athletes (both male and female), in individual and team events to Gold medals at Commonwealth Games, European Championships, Track World Cups, World Championships and at London 2012. In February 2013, Dan was announced as Sports Director for Team Sky until he became 'Senior National Endurance Coach' directly coaching the Great Britain Men's track endurance team and overseeing the coaching delivery and performance of the Women's team also.
Having completed an MSc in Exercise Science Dan Hunt started work at the University of Bath as an assistant sports scientist. Within two years he was appointed senior physiologist at a National Institute of Sport.
In 2005 he was contacted by the Great Britain Cycling Team to transform the then failing Women's Endurance Team. He led the transformation of a failing programme into one that produced 4 Olympic Medals in just two and a half years. Since Beijing 2008, Dan has sustained the success of the women's programme which culminated in 2009 where the team medalled in every World Championship event including events which Great Britain hasn't been competitive in for over 20 years and successfully defended the World Team Pursuit Title.
Dan's presentations draw parallels between the mindset, values and philosophies, determination and leadership necessary to win in elite sport or business. He is currently Performance Director at The Premier League, implementing their new Elite Player Performance Plan, a youth development system which aims to develop British home grown talent.
His integral role in the success of British cycling over the last decade, coupled with his experience as an Olympic athlete and now within his role at The Premier League, means Dan is a popular keynote and after-dinner speaker.
Full of inspiration and examples of a relentless quest for quality and refusal to accept second-best, Dan Hunt is no stranger to telling it how it is. A relaxed and highly effective communicator, he expertly illustrates his winning message in a clear and concise style.
