Chris Goodall is an author, analyst, investor and speaker on the challenges facing the world as it shifts from fossil fuels, particularly since 2012. He specialises in the usage of new energy technologies.
Chris is a member of the four person advisory board of Pictet Clean Energy, a $7bn fund based in Geneva where he provides background analysis and commentary for Pictet clients. He is also an independent researcher for CLSA, a large Asian investment bank, on global hydrogen trend. In addition, he was chair of Chargepoint Services, one of the UK’s leading EV charging businesses,
Chris has written six books, two of which were on the Financial Times’s lists of books of the year. His book ‘What We Need to Do Now: For a Zero Carbon Future’ was published in 2020. This book was shortlisted for the 2020 Wainwright Prize and one of the FT’s environment books of the year. “Crushing It’ on Hydrogen” was released in April 2021. Earlier books include ‘Sustainability: All That Matters‘ (2012) and ‘Ten Technologies to Fix Energy and Climate‘ (2010).
He also provides commentary on the energy sector in a range of newspapers, radio and online.
Chris speaks to audiences as diverse as sovereign wealth funds, major corporates and Extinction Rebellion. He aspires to communicate clearly and entertainingly to groups who may lack detailed knowledge of the subject.
Alongside his advisory work, Chris is an angel investor in several clean technology businesses, including Oxwash and Switchee, two world leaders in their fields. Previous investments include setting up the UK’s first employee owned solar installation.
