A real life superhero, Steph Davis climbs up mountains and flies off them. From an unusual start as a classically trained pianist with a Master’s degree in literature, Steph chose to leave law school in order to pursue climbing full time. Named one of “the 25 Most Adventurous Women of the Past 25 Years” by Men’s Journal, today she is known as a top wingsuit BASE jumper, and the most accomplished female free solo climber in the world.
Steph is best known for her free ascents of El Capitan in Yosemite and her ropeless free solo ascents of the Longs Peak Diamond in Colorado. She was the first woman to free the Salathe Wall on El Capitan. She has made first ascents in Patagonia, the Karakorum, the Aksu and Baffin Island. She was the first person to make free solo BASE climbs (free climb up, parachute off) of freestanding towers in the Moab desert. She made the first known wingsuit BASE climb in the US. Her two memoirs are High Infatuation and Learning to Fly.
