Jonathan Scott

Jonathan Scott is best known as co-presenter of the BBC television series Big Cat Diary, Big Bear Diary and Elephant Diary, as well as, most recently Lions: The Truth.

Jonathan’s and his wife, Angela, are also award-winning photographers. Their images have appeared in books and magazines around the world, including National Geographic, Geo, Geographical, BBC Wildlife, Digital Photography, Outdoor Photography.

Their latest books have been Antarctica: Exploring a Fragile Eden (2007) and a behind-the-scenes book about the Big Cat Diary series, called Stars of Big Cat Diary (2009). Other books by Jonathan include The Leopard’s Tale (1985); The Great Migration (1988); Painted Wolves (1991); Kingdom of Lions (1992) and Jonathan Scott’s Safari Guide to East African Birds (1998).

When they are not filming or writing, Jonathan and Angela lead small groups of fellow travellers to destinations worldwide. They are UK Patrons of the Galapagos Wildlife Trust, and Jonathan is UK Patron of the Rhino Ark, the Cheetah Conservation Fund, and The Simeon Trust, as well as serving for many years on the Editorial Board of the East African Wildlife Society, and the Conservation Board of Friends of Conservation.

He is also a member of the African Lion Working Group – affiliated to the IUCN Cat Specialist Group.
