Mark’s most high-profile achievement came when he cycled around the world in just 78 days and 14 hours – completing the famous 18,000-mile journey in less than 80 days for the first time by bicycle. In total, Mark has travelled through over 130 countries and territories, leading world-first expeditions and pushing physical and mental boundaries in some of the planet’s most remote and challenging environments. His journeys have included mountaineering in the high Arctic, rowing across oceans, and cycling down active volcanoes – all while producing award-winning documentaries for the BBC, CNN and GCN, and publishing five books that have inspired readers around the world.
Away from the bike, Mark’s work in business is equally impressive. With a background in economics, he is a partner at Eos, an early-stage innovation fund and angel investment network that supports cutting-edge science and technology start-ups. He also works within private equity, helping to originate deals and scale mid-market businesses.
