Prof. Greg Clark is a globally recognised authority on urban strategy, investment, and innovation, guiding more than 400 cities and numerous national governments through the demands of the metropolitan age. His counsel is sought by institutions such as the World Bank, OECD, the Urban Land Institute, and HSBC on how to align policy, infrastructure, and finance with long-term urban imperatives.

He has published ten books and more than 100 reports on urban economies, mobility, climate, governance, and investment, including Global Cities: A Short History and The Business of Cities. His writing combines rigorous research with an accessible, strategic lens—inviting leaders to see cities not just as problems, but as central players in the solutions of our time.

From 2008 to 2016, he chaired the OECD Forum of Cities and Regions, shaping global frameworks for urban resilience, place leadership, and competitiveness. In past years, he served as Group Advisor, Future Cities & New Industries at HSBC (2018–2022) and has led more than 20 international city advisory boards across New York, Shanghai, Oslo, Barcelona, Mumbai, and Cape Town.
