Dr. Seth Dobrin is founder and CEO of ARYA Labs, PBC, the world's first deterministic world-model frontier lab, building deterministic AI that doesn't have to scale with GPUs, megawatts, and water.
Dobrin was IBM's first-ever Global Chief AI Officer — the first CAIO at a Fortune 50 company — leading AI strategy across IBM Research, Software, Consulting, Systems, and Services from 2021 to 2022, and building the Data Science Elite Team, a 50-plus-person practice inside IBM. Before IBM, he spent a decade at Monsanto, leading the data and AI portion of one of the first successful Fortune 500 digital transformations, including the company's first Fortune 500 cloud migration, applying machine learning to precision agriculture.
A geneticist by training, Dobrin holds a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Arizona State University, where his NIH-funded research applied SNP microarrays to sudden infant death syndrome mapping, published in PNAS and cited more than 1,300 times.
He is the author of AI IQ for a Human-Focused Future: Strategy, Talent, and Culture, publishes the newsletter Silicon Sands News to more than 30,000 readers, and taught AI strategy at Baruch College and NYU.
