Fandi Ahmad is widely regarded as one of Southeast Asia’s greatest footballers and a respected leader in the global sports community. A national icon in Singapore, Fandi enjoyed an illustrious playing career spanning over two decades, earning more than 100 international caps and captaining the Singapore national team.
He made history as one of the first Southeast Asian players to compete professionally in Europe, playing for FC Groningen in the Dutch Eredivisie. His club career also included successful stints in Malaysia and Indonesia, where he became known for his technical excellence, vision, and goal-scoring ability.
Following his playing career, Fandi transitioned seamlessly into coaching and leadership roles. He has managed top clubs and the Singapore national team, as well as serving as head coach of the Singapore U-22 side.
