Wojciech Zaremba is a co-founder of OpenAI, the organization behind ChatGPT, launched alongside Sam Altman, Elon Musk, Greg Brockman, and others with a mission to build safe and beneficial artificial general intelligence (AGI). Originally from Poland, Zaremba earned international acclaim as a mathematics prodigy before completing his Ph.D. under AI pioneer Yann LeCun at NYU.
Before OpenAI, he worked at Google Brain and Facebook AI Research, contributing to groundbreaking work in neural networks and adversarial learning. At OpenAI, he led the robotics team and later played a central role in the development of Codex (powering GitHub Copilot) and GPT models.
