He co-founded the Lean Enterprise Research Centre at Cardiff University, the only dedicated research centre in Lean Thinking in the world. He has pioneered a number of Lean application concepts and techniques including supplier associations, network sourcing, value stream mapping and value chain analysis.
He has authored and co-authored many books on Lean and SCM and acts as editorial advisor for several journals.
Professor Hines is a leading authority on Lean thinking and supply chain management (SCM). He has undertaken extensive cutting-edge research into the application of Lean both in a variety of organisational contexts and across entire supply chains.
