Bart de Witte is the founder of Isaree, the on-device AI platform for healthcare, and the HIPPO AI Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to democratizing medical knowledge through open-source AI. Recognized as one of the first voices globally to champion open-source AI in medicine, he established structural frameworks for open-source AI in healthcare years before open-source LLMs became mainstream.
He previously served as Public & Healthcare Industry Leader for Central and Eastern Europe at IBM, advising governments and organizations on technology policy and the socio-economic impacts of healthcare innovation. Prior to IBM he spent ten years at SAP as a product manager for hospital healthcare solutions. He collaborates regularly with the World Health Organization and the United Nations, and was a member of the Walther Siegenthaler Gesellschaft and the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech). His work on AI applications addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals has earned multiple awards.
