Toby Lewis

Toby Lewis is a Cyber Security Expert with a career that began within the British Intelligence Services. He was a founding member of the National Cyber Security Centre and now leads an international team of Cyber Security Analysts for British AI & Cyber Security firm, Darktrace. His career has been punctuated by major Cyber Security events, initially working on the threat from Nation State espionage until WannaCry transformed the Cyber Crime landscape into one dominated by Ransomware.

Toby has delivered keynote speeches at flagship conferences on Cyber Security, sharing his experiences working at the sharp end, combating major Cyber Security incidents and providing insights into the cyber threat landscape. He has provided expert commentary for mainstream broadcast news and print media, on topics ranging from the benefits and risks associated with Artificial Intelligence, to joining BBC Radio 5 Live on the morning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine to discuss the potential use of Cyber Weapons by the two countries.

Since joining Darktrace at the start of 2021, Toby has been at the forefront of the real-world application of AI and Machine Learning within Cybersecurity, drawing on his Artificial Intelligence expertise and a deep understanding of the value in the right type of AI for the right application and the human factors around building confidence within organisations as they begin their journey with AI. With the AI explosion associated with ChatGPT, this also means engaging in a much more informed debate, balancing out the hype and catastrophisers with a pragmatic view of this new technology.

Toomas Hendrik Ilves

Toomas Hendrik Ilves served as president of Estonia from 2006-16. Ilves is renowned for making Estonia one of the most digitally advanced nations through innovative policies that invested heavily in the future.

Ilves was born to Estonian refugees and raised in the United States. He holds a BA from Columbia and an MA from the University of Pennsylvania.  He moved to Munich in 1984 to work as an analyst and researcher for Radio Free Europe, eventually becoming Director of the radio’s Estonian Service.

From 1993-96 he served as Estonia’s ambassador to the United States. In 1996 he was appointed country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, a post he held until 1998, and again from 1999 to 2002. In that time he successfully steered Estonia into the EU and NATO in 2004

He ran for the presidency of Estonia as a joint candidate of the Social Democratic, Conservative and Liberal Parties and was elected in 2006 and re-elected in 2011.

Ilves used his office to further to the country’s leadership in digital governance as well as in cyber security. Since November 2016, Ilves has co-chaired The Global Futures Council on Blockchain Technology. Since leaving office Ilves spent three and a half years as a distinguished visiting fellow at Stanford University and the Center for Advance Study in the Behavioral Sciences, while lecturing all over the world on the digitization of governance and public services. Most recently he is also advising the WHO-Europe on technological solutions to the Covid-17 pandemic and cross-border health more broadly while teaching at Tartu University in Estonia.

Harper Reed

Harper Reed is a technologist that predicts the future for a living. He spends his life traveling around the world showing people the possibilities of tech and sharing his experiences to propel the greater good, all while raising the level of fun in the room.

Previously, Harper was CTO of the Obama 2012 campaign, where he was the first to bring the mentality and connective capabilities of tech to the political stage. He was also the CTO of Threadless.com, where he pioneered crowdsourcing and grew the company from a 12 person startup to a multi-million dollar enterprise. Harper is an MIT Media Lab Director’s Fellow, sits on the advisory boards for IIT Computer Science and the Royal United Service Institute, and is on the Cornell College Board of Trustees.

Tyler Cohen Wood

Tyler Cohen Wood is a cyber-authority with 20 years of highly technical experience, 13 of which were spent working for the Department of Defense (DoD). As a keynote speaker, author, blogger, national security expert, and overall cyber authority, she is relied on to provide unique insight into cyber threats, cyber warfare, mitigating cyber risk, national security, and ensuring industries have the tools and knowledge they need to defend themselves in the digital world. Tyler sits on several cyber advisory boards such as the EC-Council Global Advisory Board (ECIH) and the CyberSat Conference Advisory Board. In January 2019 she was included in the Cybersecurity Ventures list of “Top 25 Cybersecurity Experts to Follow on Social Media In 2019”.

Along with being a private consultant, Tyler is launching cybergirlpower, a conference to get girls excited about cybersecurity, teach them how to protect themselves in the digital domain, give them hands-on cybersecurity experience and help them to become the next generation of cybersecurity leaders.

Prior to cybergirlpower, Tyler worked in the private sector as a Director of the Cyber Risk Management group at AT&T, and as an Executive Director at CyberVista, using thought leadership and her cybersecurity expertise to develop new and inventive solutions to protect customers from hackers and the ever-increasing cyber threat landscape.

Prior to that, Tyler worked at the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) under the DoD, serving as a Senior Intelligence Officer, Deputy Cyber Division Chief of the Special Communications Division and the DIA Science and Technologies Directorate-selected Cyber Subject Matter Expert (SME). While at DIA, she developed highly technical cyber solutions, and made recommendations and decisions significantly interpreting, developing and changing critical cyber policies and directives affecting current and future DoD and intelligence community programs. She has helped the White House, DoD, federal law enforcement, and the intelligence community thwart many threats to United States cyber security.

Tyler was also responsible for developing and leading many interagency working groups and task forces to develop, assess and deconflict advanced technical capabilities and techniques currently being used by U.S. Special Forces and the intelligence community to conduct special operations and missions.

She has given many empowering keynotes and presentations for companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100s. Scott M. Schlimmer

Mr. Schlimmer served seven years with the CIA, where he wrote intelligence assessments for the President of the United States, presented verbal assessments to Congressmen and Generals, and represented the US Government in meetings with foreign officials. He earned a National Intelligence Award for his work on terrorist threats to the homeland and was trained as a Senior Analyst by CIA and a European nation.

Mr. Schlimmer also served on the Olympics Counter-Terrorism Task Force, preventing disruption to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, and has worked at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, the Canadian House of Commons, and the Michigan Senate Fiscal Agency.

Mr. Schlimmer is co-author of the book "Stories from Langley: A Glimpse Inside the CIA" and serves as an advisor for Hollywood films.

Mr. Schlimmer earned a Master's Degree in Public Policy and a Bachelor's in Political Science from the University of Michigan.

 

James Lyne

James Lyne is global head of security research at the security firm Sophos.
He is a self-professed 'massive geek' and has technical expertise spanning a variety of the security domains from forensics to offensive security.
James has worked with many organisations on security strategy, handled a number of severe incidents and is a frequent industry advisor.
He is a certified instructor at the SANS institute and often a headline presenter at industry conferences. James is a big believer that one of the biggest problems of security is making it accessible and interesting to those outside the security industry.
As a result, he takes every opportunity to educate on security threats and best practice always featuring live demonstrations and showing how the cyber criminals operate in the real world. James has given multiple TED talks, including at the main TED event. He's also appeared on a long list of national TV programs to educate the public including CNN, NBC, BBC News and Bill Maher.
As a spokesperson for the industry, he is passionate about talent development, regularly participating in initiatives to identify and develop new talent for the industry.

Shawn Henry

As President of CrowdStrike Services, Shawn leads a world-class team of cybersecurity professionals who investigate and mitigate computer intrusions and targeted attacks on computer networks. He retired as FBI Executive Assistant Director in 2012, overseeing all FBI criminal and cyber investigations worldwide, as well as international operations and the FBI’s critical incident response to major investigations and disasters. During his 24-year career, he held a wide range of operational and leadership roles in four FBI Field Offices and FBI Headquarters.

Shawn has overseen hundreds of major cyber investigations spanning the globe, from denial-of-service attacks, to major bank and corporate breaches, to nation-state sponsored intrusions. He has been a keynote speaker in some of the largest cyber conferences in venues around the world. Shawn has appeared as a recognized expert in many media outlets, and is currently a Cybersecurity/National Security Analyst for NBC News, routinely providing commentary on the TODAY Show, NBC Nightly News, and all MSNBC programming.

Shawn is a Board Leadership Fellow at the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), where he speaks to Corporate Boards and Directors about complex cybersecurity issues. He earned a BBA from Hofstra University and an MS in Criminal Justice Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a graduate of the Homeland Security Executive Leaders Program of the Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for Homeland Defense and Security.

Ralph Langner

Ralph Langner founded Langner Communications, The Langner Group’s European sister company, in 1988.

In his consulting business, Langner accumulated 25 years of hands-on field experience in the cyber security issues of power plants, water treatment facilities, nuclear facilities, food and beverage plants, automotive factories, steel mills, and many more.

He received worldwide recognition for his swift and comprehensive analysis of the Stuxnet malware and is considered a leading global expert on cyber defense.

Langner is a frequent keynote speaker at international conferences on cyber security, national security, and critical infrastructure protection. He had been invited to share his insight by NATO, the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE), the U.S. Department of Defense’s Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and the White House.

Langner also serves as a nonresident fellow with the Center for 21st Century Security and Intelligence in the Foreign Policy program at the Brookings Institution.

The Huffington Post honored Mr. Langner in 2011 as a Game Changer for explaining cyber warfare to the general public.
