About speaker:

Marc Amblard is a Senior Advisor at Roland Berger and a Managing Partner at Orsay Consulting. He is a seasoned global executive and a successful strategic business developer.

In 2012-2015 Marc Amblard was EFQM’s Chief Executive Officer. EFQM is a Brussels-based non for profit foundation dedicated to helping organizations drive improvement through its time-proven Excellence Model.The EFQM Excellence Model is a comprehensive management framework used by over 30 000 organizations in Europe and beyond. Users of the Model are present in over 60 countries.

Excellence principles are widely recognised for increasing competitiveness, developing organisations and people, and establishing a culture of continuous improvement. This holistic management model has proven its robustness in driving overall performance improvement in any environment.

Marc and his team assisted organisations of all sizes, private or public, industrial or service oriented in creating the conditions for high and sustainable performance. Starting from an assessment of the existing situation, he advised them on the roadmap towards Excellence combining assessments, training and sharing of good practice. EFQM then supported the deployment in every step of the way.

Prior to joining EFQM, Marc accumulated a significant corporate experience at leading companies, in the automotive and rail sectors. He held management positions in operational and strategic functions, both in France and the USA. He was last VP, Business Strategy at Alstom Transport (6b€ in rail equipment and services), where he oversaw the strategic planning and marketing activities for this global business.

He previously managed the global product strategy and planning activities for Renault’s portfolio of light commercial vehicles (4 b€). Prior to this, he held several positions at automotive supplier Valeo, including managing a manufacturing site in the US and leading global business development for a 1.5 b€ business. Marc started his career in 1987 at Peugeot, holding positions in engineering and international B-to-B sales.

A citizen of both France and the USA, Marc holds a Master in Mechanical Engineering from ENSAM (France) and an MBA from University of Michigan’s Ross Business School (USA).
